1) Yesterday was so happy, it was difficult to realize this morning that one reason it was so happy was that I had completely forgotten to go to a dentist appointment first thing in the morning. Oopsie.
2) With temperatures risen into the low 40s, I took a brisk constitutional through the cemetery this afternoon. Walking up the long drive to the entrance past what looked like a stalled funeral procession was a little discomfiting. Later in my walk in what I call the Back Forty I was surprised to hear a car radio, and then to see someone (not apparently a staffer) cleaning the insides of his car doors down one of the roads.
2a) More picturesque was the hawk (or hawklike bird) that flew over me, showing its underside of warm tan and fluffy white feathers.
3) Another Zoom tea, this time Connoisseur Master Blend from Grace Tea, a good strong black tea, and a dozen of those very good chocolate drop cookies I made earlier in the week. Two hours of unflagging conversation on such a wide variety of topics: Bloomsbury, the Souls, Isadora Duncan, family heirlooms, the tarot, scent, Gladys Deacon, Ruth Draper, Victorian murder, Elsie de Wolfe and Edith Wharton, urban life — not in this order.
4) You know, friends, I’m just not hanging out on ye Fycebykke much, so I apologize if I’m missing major life events you share only there. It’s not that I don’t love, it’s just the algorithm.
