1) It is a beautiful morning after last night’s thunderstorm. The air is a comfortable temperature, and even my lily-of-the-valley are starting to bloom. It’s going to be a great day.
2) No shrimp at the supermarket, so I will deprived of the opportunity to serve Hubcap Shrimp with Roadkill Sauce to myself during tonight’s Dress Dinner Challenge. When my parents left on their honeymoon (65 years ago yesterday), my uncle (Daddy’s best man) had filled the hubcaps with bad shrimp for that extra-special aroma. So since tonight’s dinner is to celebrate their anniversary, I thought it would be fun.
2a) The other thing he did was leave a note on the dipstick for the gas station attendant that read: “The couple driving this car have just been married. Congratulate them, but do not tell them how you know.” Mother always remembered Daddy’s frantic effort at the first gas station they stopped at to get the note before the attendant saw it.
3) Special question for the oenophiles: someone told me that the only way to drink néctar impérial champagne was on the rocks with a slice of lemon. Is this for real?
